IOPD

The IOPD aims to be a worldwide benchmark center of reference for participatory democracy.  It resources facilitate the exchange of experiences about democratic innovations in all regions of the world to produce and improve the existing knowledge in local participatory democracy.

The IOPD publications repository provides information on participatory democracy and citizen initiatives.  The resources are for local governments to strengthen democracy and engage citizens in the debate, design, decision and implementation of public policies.

The resources are intended to foster democracy in municipal government through citizen participation in the processes of elaboration and implementation of public policies.
