Action

Stakeholders collaborate and cooperate at the local level for the protection and sustainable socioeconomic development and operation of communities.  Active stakeholder participation and involvement in the management and control of communities are essential for political trust and to strengthen democratic values.

Community participation requires stakeholders to assume greater responsibility for assessing their needs and obtaining solutions for the sustainable development and operation of their community.  It allows stakeholders to exercise their civic responsibility to manage, control and govern the local built environment.

The mobilization of citizens and other stakeholders to take action at the local level is critical for the protection and development and operation of the local built environment.  For their participation in the process, public awareness must be raised and complementary stakeholder action must be coordinated.
