The BuildAction toolkit enables citizens to exercise their rights to participate in the political discourse and connects different tools within a participatory democracy ecosystem.  The Stakeholder Participation Toolkit is intended to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of participatory democracy for municipalities and other community stakeholders.

For interested shareholders to collaborate, cooperate and participate in the sustainable development of communities, they:

  1. Register for full use – FREE.
  2. Create their personal profile (not for public display).
  3. Add the Enabler profile.
  4. Be a community facilitator.
  5. Invite others to interact and engage.

The toolkit is illustrated by the BuildAction community of Baden bei Wien:

  • Home (Dashboard) – Where the engagement of community stakeholders is initiated and the interaction of the stakeholders is communicated.
  • Enablers (Facilitators) – Public institutions, companies and NGOs that facilitate and enable the sustainability of the built environment.
  • Resources (Tools) – Guidelines, toolkits and reference sources that help stakeholders to realize more sustainable and circular communities.
  • News (Newscasts) – Current issues of interest to the community about the development and operation of the local built environment.
  • Posts (Communication) – Relevant issues of interest or concern that impact the built environment of communities and their stakeholders.
  • Projects (Planning) – Communication, collaboration and coordination of the engagement of participating stakeholders for collective action.
  • Events (Meetings) – The assembly of interested community stakeholders to discuss issues and the undertaking of collective effort.
  • Alert! (Warning) – Where imminent threats or destruction to the local biosphere, habitat and environment of the community are reported.
