The DIE research staff is engaged in numerous international research projects and contributes to policy networks. Their research and publications focus on practice-oriented research and are organized in four research programs and cross-discipline research.
The "Knowledge Cooperation" cluster investigates the role of transnational knowledge actors and knowledge communities/networks in researching and shaping global change. DIE has six independent publication series in which research fellows publish their research findings as well as in national and international journals.
The research program benefits from DIE’s training platforms. Agenda 2030 and DIE's international orientation of research are also guiding the institute’s academic training.
