Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) is an American NGO that provides third-party credentialing and verification for several rating systems for the built environment, based in Washington, D.C. It was established as the certification arm of the U.S. Green Building Council to drives global implementation of the LEED green building program, provide independent project certification, and professional credentialing processes.
GBCI has a suite of nearly 10 certification programs and 15 professional credentials and certificates. Exams and designations administered by GBCI include the LEED Green Associate, LEED AP with specialty, LEED Fellow, LEED for Homes Green Rater and Green Classroom Professional certificates and Parksmart.
