The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is a ministerial department of the UK Government, supported by 12 agencies and public bodies.   The FCDO employs staff in 280 diplomatic and development offices worldwide.

The FCDO pursues national interests and projects the UK as a force for good in the world.   It promotes the interests of British citizens, safeguards the UK's security and defends its values, reduces poverty and tackles global challenges with international partners.

Its UK Aid Direct program uses data produced by the FCDO, focused on the Official Development Assistance (ODA) – the main international measure of official aid spend.
