Centres de Recerca de Catalunya (CERCA) is a group of centers of excellence based in Catalonia, Spain – "CERCA Centers" – the institution that coordinates them. CERCA includes 41 research centers mainly based in the area of Barcelona.
CERCA aims to contribute to the international presence of the centers of research of the Government of Catalonia. It facilitates and promotes the adoption of joint policies in research management, scientific development and knowledge transfer, identifying and using the synergies and the economies of scale.
CERCA promotes the cooperation and the scientific exchange of the research centers with the best centers and universities from around the world. It increases and facilitates knowledge transfer between the private sector and society.
