Numerous environmental, social, and economic development challenges are covered under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and green building plays a key role of in achieving the UN’s SDGs.  Overcoming barriers and the adoption of solutions and methods to integrate non-renewable and renewable resources is a promising approach to achieving net zero targets in construction.  The base barriers facing the building owners are the shortage of local tools, elements and resources, the lack of knowledge about the SDGs and expertise to facilitate their achievement in construction, and the additional costs associated with their achievement.  The key practical solutions to deal with the barriers are the adoption of new methods and tools that adopt and support the SDGs in the construction industry.
