The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an intergovernmental organization with 38 Member countries, headquartered are at the Château de la Muette in Paris, France.
Founded in 1961 to stimulate economic progress and world trade, it is a forum whose member countries describe themselves as committed to democracy and the market economy. It provides a platform to compare policy experiences, seek answers to common problems, identify good practices, and coordinate domestic and international policies of its members.
The OECD publishes books, reports, statistics, working papers, and reference materials, with all publications since 1998 accessessable via the OECD iLibrary. It also publishes comparable statistics on numerous subjects on the OECD Data Portal.
