The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) is a US nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable environmental organization that established the Investor Confidence Project (ICP).  Headquartered in New York, NY, it has more than 2.5 million members and a staff of 700 scientists, economists, policy experts, and other professionals around the world.

The environmental advocacy group aims to bring transparency and accountability to the energy efficiency market through a system of standardization.  It is known for its work on such issues as global warming, ecosystem restoration, oceans, and human health.

EDF advocates using sound science, economics and law to find environmental solutions that work.
